The Hampden County Legal Clinic is a legal aid program that assists individuals with issues regarding a tenant matter and consumer matter at no charge who have limited financial resources and who meet specific eligibility guidelines. The Hampden County Bar Association’s Legal Clinic works in conjunction with the Western New England College School of Law and is sponsored by Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company.
The Hampden County Bar Association through its Legal Clinic works in conjunction with the Women’s Bar Foundation, MassMutual, and the Massachusetts Justice Project in coordinating the Lawyer-for-the-Day Program in the Massachusetts Western Division Housing Court. The Lawyer-for-the-Day Program assists income eligible tenants and landlords in court on Thursdays. The Hampden County Bar Association Foreclosure Task Force has been established to deal with the growing number of foreclosures in Western Massachusetts. This program is compiled from members of The Hampden County Bar Association Foreclosure Task Force and Hampden County Bar Association’s Legal Clinic, the Massachusetts Justice Project, Massachusetts Fair Housing Center and the Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center. Due to the rising numbers of foreclosures in this area, the task force has been set up to aide and represent homeowners in a time of crisis.
